Support for families on the Neonatal Unit

Family Charity Nurse 

Helps families with anything they need while their baby is in the hospital. If they don’t know the answer, they will help you find the right person or information. 

Wellbeing and Emotional Support

• A special team can help if you’re feeling worried or upset. 

• Ask your nurse to refer you.

Chaplaincy team

• People from different religions and beliefs are here to listen and support you.

Family fund

• A charity that gives money to families with very sick children. 

• Ask staff if you can apply. 

 

Travel costs

• If you get benefits and bring in breast milk, you might get money back for travel. 

• Ask staff for help. 

 

Parental leave and pay  

• Parents who are employed can apply for Parental Leave and Pay.
